Sometimes when farmers buy eggs in batches, they may find some eggs that turn out to be infertile. It can also happen when it has entered the incubation process, it turns out that not all eggs can grow into embryos. Of all the eggs purchased, it turns out that not all of them can be used as assets. Therefore, breeders must carefully select fertile eggs. This selection process can use the sampling method or the whole method.
If there are too many batches, a sampling method can be used to save time. However, when the number of eggs is still small, it is highly recommended to check it in its entirety. You can do both of these ways easily.

Distinguishing Chicken Fertile Eggs By Sampling
The sampling method here means that you can take one of several egg samples from each batch. This method is carried out when the number of eggs to be tested is too large if tested as a whole.
One of the easiest ways is to break it down directly. You can pay close attention to the yolk. Notice whether there is a white dot in the yellow part or not. The white dot is a prospective embryo that has the possibility of developing well. If there is no white spot on the yolk, it can be ascertained that the egg is sterile or infertile.
Remember only fertile eggs that can be hatched into a chicken. So when choosing, you have to make sure that there is a white spot on the egg, which can later develop into an embryo.
This sampling method also needs to be considered carefully, because when you find infertile eggs, the batch needs to be examined further. It could be that one of these results represents the condition of another egg. If you find infertile eggs, do not be discouraged because the percentage of the number may not be too high.
Under normal circumstances, there is usually only about a 10 to 20 percent chance of infertility. So when you buy from a trusted seller, out of ten eggs you get, only one or two are infertile.
The checking process by splitting is the most accurate way to determine whether eggs are fertile or not. However, if you have a low-volume batch, it is recommended to do a full check. There is a simple way to do the overall check without affecting the incubation time.
Distinguishing Chicken Fertile Eggs Overall
If you don't have time to do some checking, why not incubate them all right away? This is the smartest step so that later you only need to make a selection that is fertile and infertile.
Even so, there is also a method of canceling. This method is done by shining a light on the egg to see the growth of the embryo. Breeders need to do this candling on all eggs. The time needed to do this check is also not too long. Once you get used to it, it will only take you a few seconds to distinguish the results.
With the candling method, you just need to put the eggs in a dark place and shine a light on them. If there are fibers such as roots in it, it means that an embryo has grown and the egg is declared fertile. This method can be performed on days 4, 7, or 10 at the time of incubation. This process is quite fast and accurate.
When you find infertile eggs on day 10, throw them away immediately because they have the potential to rot. If one egg rots, it has the potential to contaminate the air in the incubation room and cause the others to rot too. This is because the air circulation in the incubation room is quite closed so that bacteria will easily grow. Therefore, to avoid rot, always check carefully whether there are infertile eggs or not.
